About the Program

This committed program is to give the methodologies of Traditional Tantric practice for a student’s aim to liberate from deeply conditioned habits of reactive emotion, behavior and repetitive cycles in one’s life to turn towards a larger reference of wholeness. In traditional Tantric practice, this wholeness is in reference to larger cycles of consciousness. A consciousness that exists and is available beyond what can be known through the mind that only categorizes and discerns information in reference to long term conditioning of a limited self. We will embark upon these practices from the lineage/view of ŚrÄ« Vidyā.

Nita has been guiding two dedicated saį¹…ghas, the first now entering its 11th year of practice and the second its 8th year. With the continued dedication and growing commitment of students participating in her public programs, the time has come to welcome a third generation of practitioners into this unfolding lineage of practice.

The Living Lineage

A hallmark of a living wisdom tradition (lineage) is that it is enlivened by the teacher-student relationship. The teachings of a tradition remain consistent through thousands of years and yet are enlivened by the experience of the teacher and their ability to give relevant teachings to the student at the right time. It is not enough to ā€œparrotā€ information but to fully live it and Be it for lineage to flow forward to future generations. Teachings are also enlivened through a student’s practice and ā€œtastesā€ unique on each person as the intelligence of the practice begins to flow out into daily life. When a saį¹…gha is fully participating together in this way there is a living field of support and joy.

Year One

Year One of this program is to create a solid ground in essential sādhanā practices. Sādhanā is a daily approach to engaging with the Wisdom Consciousness (Deity) through mantra, yantra, rituals (such as pÅ«jās, homas and tarpaṇams) and how to be a student. These sādhanās are encompassing and will affect us at every level. Psychologically, emotionally and spiritually.Ā Possible sādhanās given can include Bālā TripurasundarÄ«, TripurasundarÄ«, KālÄ«, Durgā, Mahāvidyā Sādhana, Mātį¹›kāsĀ and more. Sādhanās given depend on who makes up the entirety of the saį¹…gha.

There is an idea to continue on as an ongoing Sangha after Year 1 should students be interested and ready to continue to commit.Ā This first year is the entry point and will be a closed container after this year ends.

The Sangha

Other important factors of this year will include a committed saį¹…gha. A saį¹…gha is more than a social group. A cohort of practitioners enlivens the energy field both with dynamism of participation as well as expanding that living field through the embodiment of the practices. With this in place there is now a living resource of energetic support

Who Is This Program For?

This program for those who have already received full sādhanās from Nita and who have engaged with them in their personal practice for at least 6 months to a year. This ensures there is familiarity with growth work in healing fragmented and disparate parts of the self. This also means there is a radical level of self-responsibility for reactive emotion and inner resource available to work through the emotions should they arise.

In Tantric Methodology it is the small self that we have previously made congruent and solid that then needs to be deconstructed in order to see beyond limited thinking. As one can imagine, the proper ground, context and understanding must be accessible to the student in order to fully liberate from the suffering of a limited self.

What Will This Program Demand?

Devotion

This program will demand Devotion on all levels. Devotion to the practices, to the saį¹…gha we will create, to the teachings, to one’s own Self which is then dedicated out to all Beings. Devotion will be the thread winding through all teachings and practices. Devotion is so important that if one’s love to be with the Deity is strong enough… all other pre-requisites can be null and void. Grace will carry one through. Devotion gives the mood, the taste, the Beauty and fullness to sādhanā. It is the reason we are here. To dedicate ourselves so fully to the Beauty & Wisdom that She shows us Her other face, which is Love.

This is a lofty yet completely attainable endeavor and will require you to make the time and space. No one else can do that for you.

This is not a lifestyle program but a way to let life live itself through you. This is Dharma.

On a Practical Note

This program will require a willingness to create space in your life for daily practice. Perfection is not needed nor encouraged. The openness to keep showing up as well as a sense of wonder is the basic ground needed.

Our sādhanās will be determined by who makes up the saį¹…gha. We are working with real energies in real time. It is very likely that a sādhanā will be given that you already received. It is important to remember that as we deepen in our sādhanās, the transmissions are deeper and the ā€œinformationā€ as well as the practice shifts. Nothing is ever a repetition.

  • Year 1 of Tantra Vidya will meet for 4 immersions. Each immersion will be 3 full days of teachings & practice with lunch breaks. As well, there will be extra zoom meetings scheduled throughout the year.

  • All immersions and sessions will be recorded and available via Dropbox should any sessions need to be missed.Ā
