Ganesha Sadhana

February 4th & 5th, 2023

Ganesha sadhana

In Traditional Tantric wisdom streams the Deity is the ground of Consciousness that we orient towards. Often confused with worshipping something outside ourselves....the initiated student begins to understand through the direct experience of Mantra & visualization that there is no Other. These Light Beings are a literal system of Consciousness and the mantra is the genetic code to begin to Awaken these energies from the inside out.
This is real practice...meaning, it will get real...real quick. As my Dear Teacher says..."the danger of Tantra is not that it won't work. The danger is that it will work...and quickly."

So what is the aim for our practice? What is it we are hoping will work? There can be many aims....compassion, growth, healing, kindness, bounty....but eventually those streams merge into one river for the Practitioner which is complete merging with the Awakened Consciousness.

Ganesha offers us strength, dedication and also Joy along the journey. Tasting the sweetness of life is one of the qualities that endears Ganesh to so many.

One of the most prominent qualities Ganesha is known for is the removal of obstacles.  He is often invoked at the beginning of any endeavor for this purpose.
Also known as Ganapati which translates as “wedded to the senses.” This points us to a quality of discernment allowing us to be embodied in the material world while helping us to keep our eyes on the Divine Mother.
Ganesha sadhana is often approached by those new to these methodologies as his "materiality" makes him so accessible. However, he has deep wisdom for the seasoned practitioner and his practice is crucial for those with all levels of experience. We cannot bypass Ganesh.
We will learn more in depth teachings on Ganesh, learn his mantra & visualization for a daily practice from the Shri Vidya orientation.
